GM Institute of Technology
GM Institute of Technology (GMIT) is a private engineering college in Davangere, Karnataka, India. Established in 2001–02 by the Srishyla Educational Trust (R), it aims to deliver quality technical and management education, especially to students from rural and semi-urban areas of central Karnataka. The institute is part of the GM Group of Institutions and is known for its strong academic infrastructure and industry-aligned programs.
Background and Founding
GMIT was founded under the leadership of the late G. Mallikarjunappa, a philanthropist and former Member of Parliament. The trust established the institution with the vision of making higher education in engineering accessible to underrepresented regions. It now operates multiple educational institutions in Karnataka.
